Summary of Admission Requirements

Apply Online:Online Graduate Application
Interview:The Admissions Committee will screen the applications and may select candidates for interviews. The purpose of the interview is to learn more about the whole person in order to make a more informed decision. (Interviews can be in person or on the phone.)

Candidates selected for admission will be notified of their acceptance, which is conditional on verification of information provided in the application.
GMAT or GRE:Upload a copy of your test scores if you have them (they are not required). Mail to:

Non-Native English Speakers:If your native language is not English, then you must upload your TOEFL score. If your undergraduate degree is from a foreign institution and you are currently working on or have received a masters degree in the U.S., then you must upload a TOEFL score. In this case, you may submit a copy of a previous report,that is up to 5 years old. (Minimum score is 98, with subscores in the following ranges Reading - 22-30, Listening - 22-30, Speaking - 22-30, Writing - 20-30). While we prefer the TOEFL, we will accept the IELTS test as well. The minimum requirement for IELTS is 7.0.

Application Fee:$75.00 (Non-Refundable)

Payment can be submitted via credit card within the online application system (you will be able to submit payment when your online application is complete) or by a check drawn on a U.S. bank, or a money order made payable to Carnegie Mellon University. DO NOT SEND CASH OR STAMPS. If paying by check or money order, please include your name on the check or money order. Your application will not be processed until we receive your application AND application fee.
