Health Services

Student Health Services offers a variety of basic medical services much like that of a doctor’s office. General medical problems can be addressed at the Carnegie Mellon Health Services office located in Morewood Gardens.

Students should be familiar with the many local hospitals should they require medical attention outside of the Health Services hours, or need more extensive medical assistance. These are the most accessible hospitals in and around Oakland.

Health Insurance:
All students are required by Carnegie Mellon to carry valid health insurance while attending the university. Students can waive the university’s policy, if their own policy provides the amount of coverage required by the university. However, students without insurance, or with insurance that does not meet the university’s requirements, will need to purchase health insurance through the university.
